COVID Protocol for Fall 2020 Baseball

For All Sports Team Safety Representatives

Each team will have 1-2 safety representatives responsible for:

1. completing a return-to-play safety training
2. confirming the completion of player health screenings (see below)
3. emailing practice and game attendance to WHLL within 24 hours of the activity
4. helping the team with social distancing efforts during games and practices*

The representatives can be coaches, parent volunteers or a combination

Pre-game and pre-practice screening:
1. Parents will screen children at home for fever and symptoms prior to all team activities
2. Before checking in, parents will confirm with the team’s safety representative that the self-screen has been completed and no symptoms are present
3. Attendance will be recorded and emailed to WHLL*Parents are not obligated to share confidential health information with the coach or safety representative.

● Everyone is required to wash or sanitize hands upon entering the facility and fields
● Hand sanitizer will be available for players, coaches, and referees on the sidelines of games

● Masks are required at all times for spectators over 2 years old
● Masks are required for all players during check-in and until they reach their designated court/field
● Players will not be required to wear masks during physical activity
● Masks are required for all coaches when they are not demonstrating drills
● If a coach does remove their mask, he or she must maintain 6 feet of distance from players and other coaches
● Masks and temperature checks are required for all staff, volunteers, and referees

Spectator Limits:
● Drop-offs are allowed.  Spectators are allowed at practices, but must stay outside of the fence. WHLL will allow a limited number of spectators (1 family members per participant) who follow Covid screening protocol at games. They will need to make sure that they wear a mask and maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household.
● People over the age of 65, and those who are at greater risk, however, are strongly encouraged to stay at home as much as possible; and to maintain an appropriate distance from any member of the household who has been out of the residence in the previous 14 days.

Social Distancing:
● Coaches and safety representatives will help players maintain social distance when possible during practices and games
● Players will be spaced outside dugout for games
● Players are encouraged to celebrate without hugs and high fives
● Spectators are required to social distance at practices and games
● Coaches and Referees must maintain six feet of distance between each other at all times Entrances and exits
● If possible, fields will have dedicated entrances and exits to limit unnecessary crossover between groups
● It is important that all teams strictly adhere to practice/game arrival and departure times
