A League is for 8 year olds¹. The game is a “modified kid-pitch” format. The pitching format is “modified” because if the kid-pitcher is unable to throw enough strikes, a coach-pitcher will take over before a base-on-balls is reached. This league will be the first experience at pitching and facing kid-pitchers for most of these kids, so the rules are designed to create hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running opportunities. The games will be at Austin Ridge Church (formerly Westlake Bible Church) at Bee Caves Road and Cuernavaca and Hatley Field in Rollingwood (field locations). There will be no tryouts or draft. We will try to group the kids onto teams by school and geography. There will be a mandatory coaches informational meeting. League play will begin in March and run through late May.
